CAMEROON-ITALY COOPERATION: MINDCAF receives a delegation from the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Cameroon to discuss the BATOURI EDU-FOR project

On 26 November 2025 in Yaounde, the Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure, Henri EYEBE AYISSI, granted an audience to a delegation from the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Cameroon. The meeting that centered on partnership and local development mainly focused on the BATOURI EDU-FOR project, a multifunctional pilot centre to be built in Batouri, in the East Region. Designed as an integrated hub for training, innovation, community services and support for territorial development, the BATOURI EDU-FOR project aims to serve as a model that can be replicated in several regions of Cameroon, in close collaboration with local councils.

According to the Italian delegation, several potential sites have already been visited in the Centre and East Regions, thus enabling the fine-tuning of technical and operational planning of the project. In his remarks, the Minister expressed the readiness of MINDCAF to support the initiative, particularly with regard to land required for its implementation. He also hailed the consistency of cooperation with the Italian side and the growing interest in high-impact projects for young people and local communities.

This audience is testimony of the positive dynamics of Cameroon-Italy relations and paves the way for accelerated initiatives in view of the effective launch of the BATOURI EDU-FOR project, which looks promising for the youth and local development in the regions concerned.
