AFREXIMBANK Seeks Land for Its Major Projects: MINDCAF REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO INVESTMENT

On Tuesday, 10 December 2025, the Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure (MINDCAF), Henri Eyebe Ayissi, granted an audience to Mr. Ibrahim Bagarama, Head of Delegation of the Central Africa Mission of the African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK).
This high-level meeting is part of the institutional support requested by the Pan-African financial institution to secure land for the establishment of its regional headquarters and construction of a reference medical centre in Cameroon.

AFREXIMBANK aims to strengthen its presence in the sub-region, choosing Cameroon as its strategic hub. The project includes two main facilities: a state-of-the-art regional headquarters for AFREXIMBANK staff, designed to enhance the bank’s operations in Central Africa, and a reference medical centre, a high-impact project for the Cameroonian healthcare system, undertaken in partnership with the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF).

These investments are expected to serve as key drivers of development for both the national economy and subregional integration.

During the discussions, Minister Henri Eyebe Ayissi welcomed AFREXIMBANK’s initiative and reaffirmed Government’s firm commitment to facilitating access to land for major projects. He assured his guests that MINDCAF would spare no effort in addressing their request, underscoring the importance of providing investors with reliable, secure land parcels aligned with national development ambitions.

"Supporting high-impact projects begins with making suitable land available. Cameroon is committed to supporting partners who contribute to development," the Minister emphasised.

The NSIF’s involvement demonstrates the dynamic partnership emerging around the future reference medical centre. Once completed, this facility is expected to become a centre of excellence for healthcare, improving national healthcare provision and strengthening the capabilities of medical staff.

The AFREXIMBANK delegation, led by Mr. Ibrahim Bagarama, expressed satisfaction at the conclusion of the audience, hailing the willingness of Cameroonian authorities.

Both parties agreed to continue technical work to quickly identify suitable sites and accelerate land procedures.

Through these projects, Cameroon consolidates its position as a regional economic hub and reiterates its commitment to attracting and securing high-impact investments.
