FOTRAC 2026: Henri Eyebe Ayissi strengthens ties between MINDCAF and Citizens
Under the impetus of Minister Henri Eyebe Ayissi, MINDCAF was well represented at the Central African Annual Cross-Border Fair (FOTRAC 2026), held on Wednesday 29 July 2026 at the Esplanade of the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium Annex No.3 in Yaounde. This participation is in line with Government’s constant desire to bring land administration closer to the people by fostering a better understanding of instruments and procedures governing access to land in Cameroon.
Held under the theme of "Access to Land for Youths, Women and Foreign Nationals", the conference brought together experts from MINDCAF, investors, regional organisation officials, civil society representatives and citizens for frank and constructive discussions. MINDCAF specialists outlined the various land tenure systems, the procedures for direct registration and grants of State land, as well as the rules governing land acquisitions, whilst addressing the public’s numerous concerns regarding customary sales, inherited property, land disputes and the rights of foreign nationals.
These discussions provided an opportunity to recall several key principles relating to Cameroon’s legislation, including the prohibition on the sale of parcels of national land between private individuals, the obligation to comply with legal procedures for all registrations, and the decisive role of the Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure in some procedures which require a special delegation. Participants were also enlightened on MINDCAF's ongoing initiatives to speed up the digitisation of services, in order to improve the quality of public service and streamline administrative procedures
Beside knowledge sharing, this initiative is an illustration of Minister Henri Eyebe Ayissi’s vision of making MINDCAF a more accessible, transparent and user-friendly administration. Both organisers and participants unanimously appreciated the quality of discussions and expressed their satisfaction with this community-focused approach, whilst hoping that such awareness-raising campaigns would continue throughout the country. A long-term partnership with the organisers of FOTRAC has also been envisaged in order to strengthen information initiatives for the benefit of the population.
This participation reaffirms MINDCAF’s commitment to promoting land governance based on transparency, legality and closeness to citizens, in line with the guidelines of Minister Henri Eyebe Ayissi, who considers information and the modernisation of land services as key drivers for securing users’ rights and facilitating access to land in Cameroon.
